I did rather well at our County Fair this year! I just started loom knitting a few months ago and my hard work has paid off.
I made this afghan for my middle daughter. I'm a slow crocheter so it took me a little over a year. It received 4th place because the judge didn't like how the pattern works up on the back. She said it looked unfinished on the backside. Oh well to each her own.
This was my 2nd baby blanket to loom knit. I did a garter stitch border (at least I think it was garter stitch, knit one row and purl the other). It received 1st place!
The hat and booties I made to match the baby blanket. Another 1st place loom knit!
Here is a cradle purse I crocheted for my 2yr old daughter. My first attempt at something this complicated and it got 1st place!
A poncho I loomed for my 2yr old daughter, which she refused to wear until recently. I made up the pattern myself, using 4 panels instead of the usual 2 panels. I wanted points in the front and back. It's a little long in the back, but not bad for my first attempt and another 1st place ribbon!
A potholder I crocheted for a friend. She's a big OSU fan, so only Orange & Black would work for her!
My first magic scarf! It was up against a pair of hand knitted socks that were gorgeous, so I'm happy with my 2nd place.
In the antiques section I entered my grandmothers and mothers bronzed baby shoes. My mother wasn't too happy that her baby shoes were considered old enough to be entered as an antique, but now she's a blue ribbon winning antique! LOL
