New Blog Tabs

If you notice at the top, I have added a couple of new pages to my blog. I've been a terrible blogger and am trying to become better. What better way than to let you get to know me a bit better?

The 1st tab is 101 tasks in 1001 days. My best friend, Kasi, told me about this web site where you can make a list of things to get finished in 1001 days. I have posted my list and my progress on this page in my blog. I don't have my list completed yet, but I'm working on it.

The 2nd tab is 50 random things about ME! Just some random facts about me that people might find interesting. I may turn this list into 100 random things at a later date.

I hope you take a look at my new pages and let me know what you think. Have a great weekend ya'll!

Another Headache Update

Since my last post, I have gotten much worse and today I am much better! Over the weekend I participated in the "my head hurts so bad, that everything I eat comes back up diet". Lost 10 lbs in 2 days! Also during the weekend I busted a blood vessel in my eye. The "evil eye" I give my kids really is an evil eye now! They shiver in fear! Haha

On Monday my doctor put me in the hospital for more tests and to really give me lots of antibiotics. They found I had a SEVERE sinus infection. When I arrived the nurses weren't very nice. The one getting me in my room was really rude. Then she tortured me by having trouble with getting my IV in. I told her that I'm a hard stick, and I'm dehydrated and told her where my IV usually ends up. She didn't listen and stuck me 6 different times before giving up! After coming back from my CT scan she was there waiting for me to try again. This time she got my IV in place, in the exact spot that I told her would work! I could go on and on about the nurses (some great and some not), but I won't bore you.

Anyway, I came home Wednesday. Today I have felt pretty nauseous and dizzy. Hopefully all that goes away soon. I have to go back to work tomorrow! Thanks for all your prayers and keep checking back for that giveaway!

Headache Update

Yes I still have a headache. I have some kind of infection in my eye. They were thinking shingles, but figured I would have a rash by now if it was shingles. No rash, but now I have a sore in my nose and outside my nose. Yesterday my blood pressure went up, so I went back to doctor. When I got there my blood pressure was normal, not sure if it lowered on the way there or the digital blood pressure thingy was working correctly. So doctor sent me for a CT scan and gave me more antibiotics and some pain pills. Saw doctor again this morning, my scan was normal and I do not have a sinus infection like he thought.

On a side note here, my family got a big kick out of the possible sinus infection. My last sinus infection is now 5 yrs old and started kindergarten. I was treated for 3 months for what we thought was a sinus infection, when it actually turned out to be morning sickness with a stuffy nose. I took a pregnancy test as a joke and was SHOCKED when it was positive. So this time my husband is giving me a hard time and saying maybe it's a boy. Hahah

So, I'm on 2 antibiotic pills and 1 antibiotic eye drop, along with an anti-viral for my nose sores, another eye drops for pain, and some killer pain meds for my headache/eye ache. Needless to say, all these meds are making me nauseous now. I'm spending a lot of time sleeping and no sewing at all. Also hubby says my pain pill makes me act funny, so I'm great entertainment for him now.

Unless a miracle happens overnight and I wake up better, there will be no sewing this weekend. But when I do get back, I have a cool giveaway for one special reader of my blog! So stay tuned!

Thanks for your prayers!

One Flower Wednesday & 7 day headache

Thanks to everybody who left the wonderful comments on my last post. I tried to email everybody, but not sure if I did. You see I've been suffering from a 7 day headache. It started Thursday night and has gradually gotten worse each day. I'm just glad I was able to sew on Friday night. I got some relief on Monday thanks to massive doses of ibuprofen and Excedrin migraine. Today that headache has now moved to behind my right eye. I have decided to go see the eye doctor and find out what's going on. So please pray for me.

Now I haven't been updating my blog, but I have been sewing on my hexie quilt regularly. I want to have the top finished before it gets cold, so I can hand quilt it this winter. I don't have pics of individual flowers, but I'll repost my quilt pic from Friday night.
I'm linking this to One Flower Wednesday.

Friday Night Results

Handmade by Heidi

After work I decided to go buy some fabric for my rainbow quilt I'm going to make for myself. I found some cute cloud fabric for my quilt and tinkerbell fabric for my youngest daughter a skirt.
The cloud fabric is blue, but for some reason the picture turned out purple.

Then I came home and tested out my blocks for a quilt for my grandmother. I really like how they turned out.
Looks like I need better lighting for my pictures. LOL

Then I decided to move to the couch and watch season 1 of Lost. While I was watching TV, I was sewing on my hexagon quilt. It's now a little more than halfway finished.
While I didn't get anything completely finished, I feel like this was a productive FNSI. I have a plan for my rainbow quilt, a plan for my grandmothers quilt, and a few more hexie flowers added to my hexie quilt.

What did you do Friday night?

I Love My Stalker!

My best friend aka Stalker, Kasey, over at Thoughts from Me, is having a baby GIRL! I was so honored and blessed to be a part of their wonderful day via the internet when they found out the gender. Kasey is in North Carolina and I'm in Oklahoma. The place she had her ultrasound done gave her the option to stream their ultrasound online to a select few people and I was privileged to be able to join them.

How Kasey and I became best friends is very interesting. Our friendship is truly a gift from God. It was August 2001 and I had just discovered the Yahoo Domino Game room. I would go there between classes at college to unwind. I wasn't there to meet anybody, but to just play a few mindless games. Well everyday I logged in Kasey was there also. We would always end up playing against each other and chatting. When we paired up as partners nobody else could beat us. We spent hours in those game rooms getting to know each other.

For years we were strictly online friends with the occasional card sent via snail mail. Then in November 2007 I made the trip to North Carolina to be the matron of honor in Kasey's wedding. We had NEVER met in person before this time. There were lots of jokes back and forth of Kasey's stalker coming to town. We were both excited and nervous about meeting each other face to face. It was a wonderful week and I was happy to go home to my family, but sad to be leaving my NC family behind.

Here it is 2011 and Kasey and I still haven't seen each other face to face since her wedding. We are constantly messaging, texting, emailing, or facebooking each other. I'm so excited that Kasey & her husband Jamie are having a baby. They are a wonderful couple and deserve all the happiness in the world.

So, now that my GIRL prediction came true. I'm going to predict that this little girl will be born a few days early on my birthday, November 21st!  By the way...everybody including Kasey predicted boy.

Looks like I may have to plan a birthday trip to NC!

Hmmm...I think a new baby quilt will be in the works soon.

 I love you Kasey!
