Colors of the Rainbow Swap

I joined my 1st fabric swap a couple weeks ago at Bolo Heads. While reading the directions I thought it said to choose 2 colors to swap, so I chose kelly green and orange. Later on I realized I had signed up for 2 swaps! Oh well, I have been wanting to make myself a rainbow quilt for awhile, now I can make a BIG rainbow quilt! I have always loved rainbow colors even as a kid. So I'm excited to get my rainbow fabrics back so I can start sewing!

Need Your Opinion

I need help deciding on a layout for my hexagon I-spy quilt. I still have lots of hexagons to make, but I was going to start putting them together so it's not such a huge chore at the end. Just comment with the letter of the picture you prefer or let me know your ideas.

A.
B.
C. Here I would put solid pink hexagons in the centers. I just don't have any made at the moment.

More Hexagons & Polka Dots

You are looking at approximately 140 hexagons all sewed by hand. Also in the pic is my daughters cat, Polka Dot. She sits by me, beside me, or anywhere around me when I sew. It's cute, but annoying sometimes. All these hexagons will be sewed together for a matching quilt for my 4 yr old daughter. I'm hoping to have it done in time for Christmas, while she's still young enough to enjoy looking at and matching all the pictures in the fabric.

First Rag Quilt

My husbands secretary was having a baby shower last weekend and I wanted to give her a quilt as a gift. I hadn't given away any of my quilts to anybody other than family. I was so nervous as to what everybody was going to think about it. I wasn't sure about the rag quilt, but I really didn't have time to make a quilt top and have it quilted and the binding done in time. It only took me a few hours to stitch up, but it took about 2 evenings clipping the seams and 3 days of washing and drying to make it fray.

Well everybody at the shower loved my quilt! My husband told me they are still talking about it at work this past week. In fact, I have received 2 more requests for baby quilts! These 2 people I've known for several years, so I will be giving them the quilts as baby gifts, but after that I will be taking orders and charging for them!

I'm sorry for not posting very often. I forget about updating my blog. I'll try to be better in the future.

Sweet Husband

Well today I had to come to work sick because I am the only here today. To help me feel better this is what my sweet husband brought me...

Our Table

Once a year our town has a dinner for women only. Businesses, individuals, and organizations decorate a table for the occasion. My office has participated for a few years now and it's lots of fun trying to come up with new ideas every year. This year we went with a harvest theme. I quilted the placemats...
Then we all worked on creating these topiaries out of candy corn...
Once again, we had a blast creating this table! I only wish I hadn't been out of town for work, so I could have attended the dinner.
